a brief founding story of

“angkasa-lab” to mean “laboratory in outer space” is our ethos that
design should not be restricted to the norm or to the standard;
and our imagination runs freely, as ever-reaching, like the universe.
Thus, we take pride in experimenting with ideas that are ‘out of this world’ to reshape the world we live in.

As a Malaysia architectural design studio,
we recognized the importance of celebrating Malaysia’s diverse communities,
we are committed to designing buildings and spaces that are tailored to the unique requirements of the local community.
We pride ourselves on our ability to incorporate innovative and sustainable design solutions into our projects to ensure that our designs are not only aesthetically pleasing but also efficient and environmentally friendly.

Our goal is to create meaningful spaces that reflect Malaysia’s rich heritage while also being aesthetically pleasing.
We decided to start from off-city towns, our hometowns, Bukit Mertajam and Teluk Intan.
In addition to being our childhood home and our most familiar spaces,
it is also because these places hold immense untapped potential waiting to be uncovered.
